Empty state screens for WYSIWYG builder

UX Writing
Microcopy
Content Design
Goal
Create a customized Empty State based on users’ choices on a prior onboarding form. In this case, users have indicated that they plan to create a portfolio website.
Hypothesis
Users will be more likely to start a new project if:
• It seems easy and straightforward to do so.
• The UI on early screens is uncluttered and its actions are non-technical.
• Ample choices of templates are offered.
• They see that in starting a project, they’ll be joining the ranks of many other Clixflow users.
Considerations
• Users should understand that they can build a portfolio site using a template or can build one from scratch.
• Users should have a clear understanding of how to get started on their first project, and should be encouraged to do so.
• The KPI (key performance indicator) is the number of users who start a new project.

Body Copy
Build your portfolio site by choosing from 100+ templates...or create a custom site from scratch.
CTA 1
Use a template / 193K users have done this
CTA 2
Create custom site / 68K users have done this
Rationale
Users who are intimidated by the notion of custom-building a site can indicate their decision not to use this method. This may maximize the chances that such users will get started rather than abandon the site.

Users may be more likely to get started after viewing simple statistics on the number of prior users who have done so.
